Amanda’s story made me cry.
I knew from our first initial conversation that her first professional portrait brand photo session on the beach in Brighton would be epic!
WHERE DO I START?
Amanda, Amanda, Amanda.... Let me introduce you to a sober artist (but not boring artist- trust me!).
She’s a creative entrepreneur on a mission to motivate and inspire others to put pen to paper.
Based in Brighton, like me, Amanda has her art studio in the sky where she makes art and creates workshops designed to help others reach their sober potential by tapping into the creative process.
As far back as she can remember, a sketchbook has always been her best friend and happy place.
BRAND PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT INSPIRED BY AMANDA STORY
Confident, joyful, free and focused… that was an initial vision of the outdoor brand portrait photo session inspired by Amanda's story.
Witnessing Amanda stepping into her power, feeling confident and empowered in her life and during the photoshoot… was indeed a powerful experience for both of us.
September was a big milestone for Amanda.
It marked a year of being sober.
She has spent the last 365 days daily drawing which helped her to overcome all the ups and downs on the recovery journey.
Daily practice has given her:
confidence as an artist
commitment to creativity
passion and love for drawing and keeping sketchbooks
As a result, she has decided to celebrate and launch The Sober Artists Club this year.
I knew I want to be part of Amanda project as her personal brand photographer.
By equipping Amanda with the brand images I will help her to promote her project and vision across all social media channels and website.
The photo session took place on the beach here in Brighton, Sussex, where Amanda normally goes early morning for her walk and journaling practice.
Me, my camera and Amanda went for a walk together and that’s what we created.
TAKE TIME OUT TO DO WHAT YOUR CREATIVE SOULD IS LONGING TO DO
Amanda strongly believes that part of our self-care is to take time out from our busy lifestyle to do what our creative soul is longing to do.
I can’t argue with that.
It’s all about creating a space to truly connect with our creative side, and our mind and body by putting pen to paper
I truly believe that being creative, whether it’s painting, drawing, journaling, writing, dancing or sketching has healing and therapeutic qualities.
Creativity helped Amanda to overcome drinking addition.
For me: painting and taking pictures helped me overcome my anxiety and depression in my early thirties. That’s how my professional photography and videography journey begin… therapeutically way.
Creativity is good for mental wellbeing and helps our minds to focus on the task at hand rather than thinking about millions of other things.
Because you are allowed to do this and not feel guilty!
Whether you are a freelancer, entrepreneur, website designer, yoga teacher, success coach…. whatever your job title is, I urge you to always seek inspiration, keep experimenting, expressing yourself and to never ever stop being creative, for creativity is our very own essence and an essential part of our human nature.
