There are SO many ways to incorporate your business brand’s colours on your next personal brand portrait photoshoot.
The trick is planning ahead.
Yet, don’t be the person who does absolutely everything in their brand colour.
Remember, sometimes less is more!
As a Sussex based professional personal brand portrait photographer I have photographed hundreds of online female entrepreneurs from Brighton and London and learned what works best on the day of the photoshoot.
3 easy ways to incorporate your business brand colours during YOUR NEXT portrait photoshoot WITH ME, a BRIGHTON AND loNDON BASED FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHER
One client called me a ‘visual artist’ rather just an another photographer or videographer simply because I have an artistic eye and vision for the portrait photoshoot. I love selecting, matching and putting tougher the outfits, props and accessories which go well with a specific backdrop and location while having your brand in mind.
I enjoy shooting the portraits but also enjoy the initial design and envisioning process for your unique personalised portrait photo session.
Outfit
This is the easiest way to reflect some of your brand colours on the day of your photoshoot with me by simply selecting outfits in colours matching your brand.
Think of the outer layer of what you’re wearing; jacket, top, cardigan, trouser… an endless list of possibilities. You can mix and match your brand colours with different outfits but be careful not to create a colour clash with the externals such as wall colour, interior design etc.
Again the secret is to keep it simple. Less is more. Less is powerful.
Before the brand portrait photoshoot most of the photographers (including myself) will ask you to share your brand design but do not worry if you do not have it yet.
Most of my clients have brand colours for their business that turns out to be their favourite colours. So don’t be surprised that your wardrobe is already filled in with the right colours and you don’t have to buy new outfits.

2. Props: stationery and accessories
Another smart, creative and sophisticated way to incorporate a hint of your brand colour in your headshot is by adding the right props on the day of your shoot.
What I mean by props is pretty much anything which is around you on the day of shooting. This includes what you’re holding in your hands: mobile phone cover, journal and pen, stationary, favourite book cover, mug, laptop.
Let’s not forget the personal accessories such as earrings, neckless, scarf.
Sometimes all you need is a hint of your brand colours to be added which will not overpower the image itself.
Professional photographer tip: props are not only the best creative way of injecting your brand colours… incorporating props on your brand portrait photoshoot will help you worry less what to do with your hands! So you can relax and enjoy the experience of being in front of the camera.
3. Location: decor, interior design, furniture
My favourite way of incorporating brand colour is to search for the perfect location of your brand photoshoot (here are my 8 location spots you don’t want to. miss on your portrait photoshoot in Brighton and Hove Sussex UK).
This includes paying attention to the right interior design, style of furniture and overall decor of the place which hopefully will match not only the brand colour of your business but overall aesthetic of your brand.
