As a Brighton based professional female portrait photographer I am surrounded by creative business owners, artists, designers who are looking for more than a traditional “boring” headshot for their website.
They are looking for a personal brand photographer who is all about embracing their individuality in the most authentic way. And that’s my goal as a photographer and videographer during each indoor and outdoor photoshoot with purpose driven creative women.
I recently photographed Ellie Hipkin, a textile mixed media artist based in Sussex, Brighton & Hove, who’s work is inspired by the colours and textures of nature from the countryside to the coast. She is not only creating a beautiful artwork but also teaching others the you of mixed media art.
Portrait photoshoot inspiration and style
As a professional portrait photographer from Brighton I am always inspired by my clients stories. As an visual artist I am inspired by nature. Combining both elements perfectly defines my photography style.
Ellie’s creative process is very unique and inspired by nature. It involves layering, monoprint and free motion embroidery over the painted landscape scene to create depth, mood and atmosphere.
Learning more about her creative process has given me lots of ideas for the photography style that would go well with her branding.
Having in mind that it was her first professional brand portrait photoshoot, we kept the session simple:
one location (Shoram beach),
time: later afternoon to avoid crowds (golden hour),
few outfit changes
props inspired by nature and her creative process of course
