Are you a flowing water, invincible woman or a limitless, resilient rock woman?
Both are powerful yet showing their strength in a distinct way.
As a Professional Personal Brand Portrait and Retreat Photographer based in “sunny” UK, Sussex, London & Brighton, I strive to be surrounded with women who trust and surrender to the flow of life. It may even be at its simplest, the state when we just are, and we know that we are exactly where we should be.
The woman.
She is like water that keeps on flowing, trusting anything that is awaiting around the corner, knowing where she is going and letting it go.
She surrenders to the flow of life with open heart and compassion.
She is a free-thinker yet following her dreams and passions.
She’s inspirational.
I get to know her and instantly. I know I must approach the outdoor portrait photo session in the same way.
We devote less time and energy on complex planning and designing the personal brand photo session than normal. We have other priorities today. By this point I am beyond excited – our focus is to be put primarily on “going with the flow” on the day of the outdoor and lifestyle portrait photoshoot.
Like this sturdy rock, I am here, being her support, certainty, the foundation. I provide guidance from before, during and after the photo session, bringing the focus right back into its core when necessary.
The nature is never to be controlled.
We just enjoy the moment in nature.
Nothing in here is to be forced.
During the lifestyle photo session, I let her be free and very feminine. I see the power that needs to be let out and shown to the outside world.
I realise I am beaming as she begins to run around, dance and express herself freely as if the camera wasn’t there.
Suddenly it doesn’t matter where we are.
We are in this world, right here, right in this moment and we both surrender.
I can see it, it is happening.
And I want to catch every little piece of this beautiful view with my camera.
Whether it be a sandy beach, forest, an open field or just the nearest park here in UK, London, Brighton or somewhere in Europe, the happiness is the same.
Whether it be a sunny, foggy or even rainy day, and even if your hair is all over the place, you are YOU.
And she feels herself.
For me, a professional female photographer, it is a pure joy to witness her moment of freedom and an immense honour to capture these precious moments of beauty, vibrance and a declaration of her true self.
So much room for both of us to express ourselves and our creativity.
I am the water?
Then, how is it that I also openly enjoy being surrounded by driven, ambitious and strong women who wake up every day ready to face whatever awaits them?
We walk back from the photo shoot. I know now she is a game-changer.
This is a true adventurer and a goal-oriented warrior.
She knows what she wants, and she is on a mission to be successful. Like a rock, she is grounded, stable and very strong.
Am I the rock?
I approached this personal branding portrait photo session in the way to suit her needs. I let her take control of planning and designing the photo session, from branding perspective, location to even the choice of outfit.
And that’s perfectly fine with me!
I know she has her own vision!
She knows what’s she wants – and I want her to get what she wants.
In this aspect… I am like water, I surround all her ideas and fit into any shape. I might provide my inputs, suggestion and inspirational ideas whenever welcomed.
But water doesn’t influence.
Water conforms.
We work together like a team. I will focus my energy to on small details since this is my speciality.
I make sure her hair looks immaculate. I help her find the perfect position and pose that truly reflects her story and who she is because I know how important this photo session is for her. These images we are creating together will be used for her brand-new website or a re-branded website, publications, social media, Instagram…the list is long.
I am the rock? I am the water? Both because I need to be and because I am inspired by the beautiful individual on the other side of my camera.
So now… it’s YOUR turn.
Are you “the water” or “the rock”?
or
BOTH like me!
