This isn’t a typical painting adult art class in Brighton. This isn’t a “paint by numbers” workshop or “copy how I paint” approach.
In this art workshop we will do things differently:
The main tool we will be using is not the brush. It’s our mind - free from limitations.
We will paint intuitively! Spontaneously to the music, allowing the paint to evolve and reveal itself freely into an explosion of colours, patterns, marks, shapes, texture on the canvas.
We will paint big! Big brush movements, a bold colour pallet and even the fingers. The intention is to let go of any expectations.
We will get messy! This is not about making pretty things. It’s rare opportunity to let go of perfectionism and experiment with a wide range of art materials (acrylic, watercolours, pastels, chalk etc) to free our inner artist and find our creative voice in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We will get creative! Art has no limitations, we use every day tools: window squeegee, credit card, bubble wrap, fork, scraper, feather, chopstick, ANYTHING to get our imagination going! Suddenly the concept of “painting” expands! It’s a painting wonderland full of possibilities.
We will free ourselves from limiting beliefs! This dynamic and creative free-flow painting style will move us through past fears, creative blocks and self-doubt into joy and free-flow creative state of freedom!
We will express ourselves! By opening our mind and listening to our heart, we can express our soul without boundaries or judgments. While experimenting with painting, we will build a relationship with who we are, reconnect to our inner child and fully express ourselves including the wisdom that is forever inside us. There is such freedom and joy in this!
Who is this class for?
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never painted before or you are a PRO! My painting workshop experience is a joy-filled, judgment-free zone! Everyone is welcome. Even those who think they aren’t creative or can’t paint or draw. Also, this is a great opportunity for creative types who haven’t picked up a paintbrush in a while but are longing to express themselves through art. We can play and feel like a kid again without worrying about the end result. Nobody will judge what we create together. We are all on a journey to find our inner artist.
The people who come to this class are from all walks of life: freelancers, therapists, entrepreneurs, meditation teachers, website designers, yoga teachers, success coaches, school teachers, parents….whatever! This could be fun and creative way to celebrate your birthday, anniversary or any other occasion in Brighton.
What to expect on the day?
We start with getting to know each other, setting intention and embodiment exercises (breath/ meditation) to help you ground, become more present and open to the free-flowing creative state.
Through fun, guided group and individual creative painting practice, we’ll explore wide range of art materials, experiment with an unconventional tools and try many abstract painting techniques including layering, mark making, texture. All centred around experimentation, fun and letting go…
After a delicious vegetarian lunch together, you will have time to develop your own intuitive painting on large canvas which you will take home with you at the end of the workshop.

Hi, I’m Magdalena
I am an intuitive mixed-media abstract artist based in sunny Brighton (Hove actually) on a mission to help people like YOU to awaken their creativity.
I have years of experience to create and hold a safe space of self-expression, creativity and healing.
Painting intuitively allows me to communicate and express myself in ways that words cannot.
I let my innermost unconscious thoughts and emotions guide the brush movements on canvas rather than using my thinking mind (logic).
I use lines, shapes and mark making, drip painting and splattering, to express what needs to be expressed.
I focus on spontaneous, instinctual, raw creation, the process and energy of creation, not perfection.

Please note: This is not about creating beautiful art or being good at painting. It’s a way to express yourself, experiment with art materials while having fun. With abstract painting there is no right or wrong so you can’t make mistakes. Your hands will move intuitively, without thought. I will be there to inspire you and guid you. Together we will learn to let go, surrender and see what emerges in front of us. No previous experience is required.
Cancelation Policy: due to the nature of the workshop (art supplies and canvases purchased in advance, limited capacity in the professional art studio) I will not be able to offer a full refund once a purchase has been made for any reason. If you cancel and give me at least 4 weeks notice, you will receive a refund of 50% or a possibility to transfer your booking to another future event if there are spaces available. If you cancel after the 4 week cut-off date no refund can be issued. If the workshop is cancelled by the event organiser for any reason, either the workshop will be re-arrange or full refund will be offered based on the preference of the attendee.
