Why you need more then traditional headshots on your website
Magdalena Smolarska
As Brighton based professional female portrait photographer I receive lots of enquires from women who are looking for 2-3 business headshot images for profile pictures on LinkedIn and their ‘about me’ page of their website.
Having a handful of professional quality business portrait images is a good start to launch a new business and website. It’s certainly better than using stock images (why I am saying no to stock images on your website).
However it will not make you stand out from the crowd.
That’s why I take personal brand photos with a twist.
I aim for bespoke, impactful, soulful, story-telling and engaging portrait images of you, from relaxed (certainly not boring) headshots to pictures of you in your element. You can read more here about difference between business headshots vs personal branding portrait photography
A professional photoshoot is an investment of time and energy that brings an immediate ROI. Not only do you improve trust, likeability and connection on social media but it will help you maximise conversions (e.g. new clients, booking, sales etc).
Beyond the traditional headshot. Personal branding photography for creatives, entrepreneurs & small businesses
Meet Francesca, Go Proud Solution executive director, corporate lead trainer and high-end coach, who drove from Eastbourne to my home studio in Brighton and Hove for a business portrait photoshoot.
Francesca is on mission to inspire Sussex and London based leaders and HR managers to optimise engagement, performance and growth by increasing emotional intelligence in the workplace. For that reason I made sure we not only captured relaxed headshots for her LinkedIn profile but also captured Francesca in action: individual 1:1 client meeting, corporate training, working environment and more.
And that’s what we did, including a multiple outfit changes so it doesn’t look like the pictures where taken during a one day photoshoot. As well, my husband kindly agreed to be a model for client meeting scenes.
aPortrait photoshoot even if you’re camera shy? that’s my specialty!
For some of us, having a photoshoot and posting pictures online is a journey of overcoming anxiety and fear. Facing the camera can be tough. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
As a business owner myself, I’ve learned that making the business (and the person behind the brand) visible on social media doesn’t have to be painful.
It can be done in a gentle, authentic and soulful way. And this includes every photoshoot I do with my clients.
Together we can create a professional storytelling brand video and/ or personal band portrait pictures during one session together.
I actively seek out camera shy female entrepreneurs within Brighton & Hove, Sussex area because I love seeing them open up during the shoot.
As a female photographer, I love empowering them to be confident and visible online so they can share their message, service or product.
