Why this Brighton abstract painting class is for you
Magdalena Smolarska
Myart teacher in high school didn’t understand my artwork. Rather than creating traditional realistic acrylic paintings I found joy in pushing boundaries by experimenting with texture, colours and shapes.
That’s how I discovered intuitive abstract painting style and decided to host acrylic large abstract painting classes, workshops and experience in sunny Brighton (Hove actually) Lawrence professional art studio.
I believe art has no limits!
That’s why I use everyday tools to paint with at my abstract painting workshop: window squeegee, bubble wrap, fork, credit card, pastry brush, toothbrush, scraper, feather, chopstick, ANYTHING to get my (yours) imagination going while I am painting.
With time I discovered that intuitive abstract painting can be more than just dancing with colours, texture and shapes. It’s a way to express myself and my feelings and emotions.
“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way - things I had no words for.” -Georgia O'Keeffe
Suddenly the concept of painting expands! It’s full of possibilities and healing.
Hence no surprise how different people can have so many different reasons for coming to my intuitive large abstract painting workshops in Lawrence Art Studio in Brighton and Hove, Sussex UK:
Check out this message I got below👇
“Hi Magdalena, I’m so glad I came to your Brighton painting workshop! I've wanted a piece of artwork for my home for over a year now but couldn’t find anything that felt right. I’m glad to say the the piece I created at your workshop is now proudly hanging in my living room! Because I made it, it suits the decor of my house and every time I see it I remember how much fun I had creating it. Maybe there’s an artist inside me after all."
And now check out this contrasting message that I received from someone who attended exactly the same workshop:
"I loved the painting workshop but . . . I must admit, I can’t imagine hanging my painting in my house lol. It’s not pretty but I don’t care tbh. Painting it was such an amazing process - an emotional release! I swear, years of suppressed stress left my body that day. I can’t tell you how amazing it felt to throw my feelings onto the canvas without trying to make something perfect."
Do you see what I’m getting at here?
Every single person has a completely unique experience during this one day painting class in sunny Brighton professional art studio (only 1 hour from London).
What would be your experience be? There is one way to find out :-)
