Why am I saying NO to stock images on your website by UK branding portrait photographer
Magdalena Smolarska
First impressions really matter, especially if you are an online business owner launching or rebranding a website.
As a Brighton based professional personal brand portrait photographer I see many beautifully designed websites, with a professional logo, but with the same cheap-looking stock images and not a single photo of the person behind the brand.
It’s such a shame!
I (like everyone else) am longing for connection before I purchase a service or product.
That’s why I do what I do: I humanise your online presence with authentic lifestyle business portraits and headshots so you feel confident and proud enough to inject them on to every page of your website.
Humanize your website with an authentic lifestyle business portraits
Like my lovely client, Lucie, Brighton based finance coach and accountant. These pictures are from the indoor brand portrait photoshoot in my home photography studio in Brighton.
Lucie approached me directly with an intention to set her online business apart from competitors and build trust and credibiltiy with her audience.
After the initial call we both agreed to capture more relaxed, approachable business headshots (rather than traditional formal “boring” headshots) so she can use them across every sub-page of her website. Lucie works one to one with clients and I made sure we reflected some clients meetings shots by getting my husband to act as a model in some of the shots.
Like many of my female clients, Lucy was a little bit camera shy at the beginning. For that reason we decided to keep the photo session very simple with only 2 outfits changes (what to wear on your portrait brand photoshoot) and few props (laptop, books, papers, pen, notebook). Because sometimes less is more.
Visual content for your website and social media is important. I always advise my clients to replace all stock images with the authentic brand portrait images we create together.
