Meet Gemma, based in sunny Brighton, after 7 months of navigating being a new mum, off the back of redundancy from her job as Account Director, during a global pandemic, she is now on a new journey - working out what’s next.
During the lockdown she had time to pause and reflect on:
her life and career
what she enjoyed
what makes her feel alive
what really brings her joy
She is currently exploring a portfolio career which will allow her to earn money through her “bread and butter” professional experience, and combining this with her passion projects in health and well-being, networking, collaborating, creating and many more!
As a personal brand portrait & headshot photographer based in Sussex, capturing different sides of people is my speciality! From authentic and relaxed lifestyle brand portraits (for your social media and websites) to expressive commercial headshots (for LinkedIn profiles), I can do it all in my professional photography studio based in Brighton & Hove.
That’s what I did with Gemma in these shots. Four very different version of the same person and I’m still not showing the full extent of superpowers, gifts and talents of Gemma.
Gemma is amazing at bringing people together, and with her business partner Sarah Bayliss, they educate people on tasty nutritious food.
So it’s no surprise we started the photoshoot in the heart of my photography studio - the kitchen.
I am all about the authenticity and capturing my clients in their element, so we used the real props; fruits and vegetables and my kitchen island, 30 minutes later we not only captured relaxed, story telling, expressive brand portraits of Gemma but we had a very healthy vegan lunch together!
Gemma spent the last two years creating and building relationships with other women in business from Brighton & Hove by organising @thebrightoncolab networking events.
It’s her biggest passion to continue bringing purpose driven women together hence we decided to show behind the scenes of being an event organiser, and the amount of thoughts and planning which goes with creating a networking event.
3.Professional LinkedIn headshot and portrait photography
We even took some professional (but certainly not boring) headshot together as Gemma might consider going back to the corporate world as a contractor.
We used a professional backdrop for more traditional headshot portraits as well as a green garden backdrop for more relaxed freelance vibes.
4. New born & family photography in studio
At the end of the brand photoshoot with Gemma, I just couldn’t resist to take few pictures of Roody, new born son of Gemma.
