How to overcome the post-lockdown visibility blockages with UK female brand portrait photographer
Are you feeling nervous about emerging out of lockdown?
Or perhaps you’re feeling excited, ambivalent or unsure.
Despite the universal turmoil COVID has caused, perhaps lockdown has given you the opportunity to connect with yourself?
Or forced you to pivot your business online?
Maybe you’ve really enjoyed working from home, finding your own rhythm and enjoying a quieter lifestyle.
Or perhaps you can’t wait to step out into the world again, whether that involves getting a new haircut, meeting up with friends, or setting up that business you’ve been wanting to set up for ages!
No matter how you’re feeling, it’s important to go at your own pace, and only do what feels comfortable to you.
There’s no need to rush into the hustle and bustle of ‘returned’ life if you don’t want to.
Before lockdown, modern life never stopped.
Life was chaotic, fast-paced and all-consuming, barely leaving us with a chance to connect with our own internal needs.
Lockdown showed us a new way of life
Lockdown showed us a new way of life; a life that came with its own set of challenges, whether you identify more as an introvert or an extrovert.
It provided many of us with a wonderful opportunity to become in tune with our own needs and boundaries. Finding the perfect middle-ground between holding onto that feeling of connection with yourself, and stepping out with excitement and a sense of being grounded will be a useful combination to help you reintegrate into this new chapter of life.
It’s completely natural to feel a bit unsettled as we witness and undergo this big transition.
Here are some solutions to help you overcome the post-lockdown jitters:
1. Stay away from crowded streets.
Just because the vibrancy of the outer world has returned, it doesn’t mean you have to rush out and immerse yourself into the hustle and bustle of busy places.
Instead, you could step out into nature nearby Sussex, whether that be the beach, local park or even your back garden, as a way to calm your spirit. Here are my top 5 Sussex green location for your portrait brand photo session.
2. Before you leave the house, do some gentle breathing exercises or some journaling to help ground yourself, so that you feel rooted and in your body. Breath technique is my number 1 tip on how to relax in front of the camera.
This will be hugely beneficial before subjecting yourself to the chaotic energies of the outside world. It’s always important to check in with yourself before you give your energy to others.
My top tips how to overcome the post-lockdown visibility blockages through brand photography with Sussex, Brighton & Hove based female photographer:
All that hibernating over the past year has made it harder than ever to get out of those jogging bottoms and take the plunge to be visible in the outer world.
That’s why I’m here to help.
As a female Brighton-based portrait photographer, I work with many different clients to help them step into their confidence and help them shine.
If you’re looking for photographs that capture your truest essence, yet you want to avoid being in busy places, I have a solution for you.
Brand Photoshoot in the comfort of your own home
Rather than taking pictures in busy co-working spaces, crowded coffee shops or your favourite working spot, we can do it in the comfort of your own home!
Using your own safe space as the location for your photoshoot will help you to feel comfortable, grounded and inspired by your own environment.
We can also show the behind the scenes of your life, and this will give insight into your décor, lifestyle and personality.
In turn, this will help you to express the intricacies and small details which reflect who you are at your core of your brand.
Using my own Sussex home Photo studio space to help you feel comfortable, grounded and safe
I have also recently opened up the doors to my own studio/house (based in Sussex, Brighton and Hove).
This is a safe, welcoming space to help you feel as comfortable as possible.
The layout includes a living room, open plan kitchen, dining room and spare room and garden!
Everything is set up for you, including perfect light coming from dual aspect windows, and neutral décor.
All you need is to bring your own energy, props and yourself.

Indoor & outdoor brand pORTRIAT photoshoot
If you like this idea, but also want to dedicate a fraction of the shoot to an outdoor space, then we can definitely do this.
It is a very popular decision amongst my clients to divide the time between the indoors, and then go to the beach or the forest at sunset.
This provides a beautiful contrast, using the variation of space to help inspire a range of different feelings, emotions and expressions.
