Videos are booming and we are currently flooded with videos on social media: reels, IGTV, live videos, stories, brand promo videos.
Unfortunately, it’s not enough to share any videos.
Sharing engaging, storytelling, entertaining and educational high quality videos will make you stand out from the crowd and your audience will watch your videos to the end.
And that’s how I approach creatively any filming project with my lovely clients: small online business owners, female entrepreneurs, course creator, wellness coaches from Sussex, Brighton & Hove.
Avoid boring social media videos with these 4 tips by Sussex commercial photographer and videographer:
1) Hook your audience with the opening line and scene
Don’t start with “Hello, I’m Magdalena.”
Start by creating curiosity.
Use an interesting fact, question, situation or funny story.
You can introduce yourself after you’ve got their attention.
2) Be active, use your body language
Use hand gestures, be expressive and feel free to shoot in an unusual location. Do whatever you can to keep them engaged.
3) Use multiple camera angels while filming
This is trick reality TV shows use. They constantly keep the camera moving so you stay tuned in to the action.
4) Tell your story
People love stories. Especially stories with emotions. Lay it on thick with feelings and situations your clients can relate to.
We not only took beautiful lifestyle commercial brand portrait images of Justine but we extended the experience by creating a short brand promo video clip for her website and social media in my Brighton house studio.
Visibility is such an individual journey, Justine and I found a gentle way to share her powerful message through a storytelling brand video.
And we did it without posing or talking directly to the camera.
