Having privacy on the day of the outdoor photoshoot is very important hence I suggest my clients to pick a weekday rather than a weekend, and invite them to explore breathtaking East & West Sussex beaches with me, away from the busy centre of Brighton and Hove. 

Here are my top 3 locations for your outdoor lifestyle or brand portrait photoshoot on the beach with me:

1. Whitecliffs Saltdean photo session location

If you go east from Brighton’s Marina there is the undercliff walk. It goes along the coast about 2 km from the marina past Rottingdean and ends up at Saltdean beach (10 minutes car drive from Brighton Marina).

This stunning location has so much to offer: Saltdean sea front with fantastic sea views, rock formations  and beautiful views of the chalky white cliffs.

You are just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Brighton’s town centre to get that great feeling of escapism without having to go too far! Parking and café facility available. 

Best time for photoshoot: weekday, early morning (sunrise) and a couple of hours before the sunset all year round.

2. Seven Sisters Cliffs, Cuckmere Haven Seaford beach photoshoot location

If you have car and time, let’s explore the Seven Sisters Country Park!

Now, this is a location I could rave about for hours!

It is by far one of my favourite places to wander around and it provides a perfect selection of backgrounds for brand shoots: 

• breathtaking views of the sea

• multiple cliffs

• wooden groynes,  and a river. 

It’s 30-40 minutes drive from Brighton but it’s so worth it. During the week, expect only a few locals on the beach (weekends might be busy with tourists).Parking facility, 5-10 minute’s walk from parking to the beach. 

Best time for photoshoot: weekday, early morning (sunrise) and couple hours before the sunset all year round. 

3. Perch on Lancing beach photoshoot location

If you are looking for an intimate beach spot in Sussex, there is this delicious spot, Perch on Lancing Beach, that I couldn’t recommend highly enough for your outdoor portrait photo session.

With only 15min drive from Brighton, the beach is not only long and wide, but you can enjoy a lovely coffee with the view as well.

Perfect setting for the branding photography: urban/office vibe mixed with an element of nature. 

This is my favourite beach for long walks in the sunset with my camera and my lovely clients. If you are lucky we might enjoy our walk together on a sandy beach during the low tide. 

This beach has so much to offer from rock formations to wooden groynes, pebbles and sandy beach. 

What’s not to love?

Other options: underneath Brighton Pier, Brighton bandstand, Brighton & Hove beach

Running your own business means never ending “to do list” and if you’re local to Brighton & Hove, you might wish to have your photoshoot done locally.

The weather in Brighton can be unpredictable - from harsh strong sun to unexpected rain. For that reason, I love shooting walking distance from the Brighton Pier or Brighton & Hove Bandstand.

Under the pier you can find delicious textures and backgrounds for you photoshoot: rusty metal, rock walls and golden hour (sunset) backgrounds.

Best time for photoshoot: weekday, all day as pier offers shelter in case of rain and strong light.
