Social Media Visibility and my approach as Female Personal Brand Photographer from London & Brighton

There is a time for everything!

Although our lifestyle and routine has changed massively...

Although we have more time to sleep, relax, pause and rest.... I have recently felt guilty for not doing much for my Personal Branding Portrait Photography and Videography business right now.

Do you feel pressure to be visible on social media like me?

Do you feel like you have to be posting multiple FB & Instagram post daily?

Do you have a back log of blogs to be posted?

Recently I have decided to change my approach to social media and online marketing.

What helped me a lot was the acknowledgment that I am unique…. I am not just another Brand Photographer, Videographer and creative visibility coach from London & Brighton.

Here is my new way of operating:

1.   Everything I do on social media is as authentic as I am on the day

The truth is that for me, personally and professionally, it’s all about authenticity, being true to myself, true to my feeling, emotions, energy level. This is what determines my creativity level and visibility level on the social media on a specific day.

I want to be as authentic, honest and real with myself and you as much possible, in the real and virtual world. I am longing to truly connect with my followers and potential clients by sharing what's inspired me, what's on my mind and what's important for me right now at the present moment.

This is why I am not a fan of social media content planning and scheduling Facebook and Instagram posts in advance. I understand the benefit of doing it: consistent, gaining advantage of algorithm, being visible, gaining new followers, driving engagement…

I used to do it but as I have changed and evolved as a person, as an artist and as more purpose-driven female photographer, it doesn’t work for me.

2. I do everything with passion or not at all!

I used to tell myself (and my clients during caching sessions) to "be visible" – keep sharing regular social media posts, frequent blogging, updating website content, SEO, live videos... be consistent but only if it works for you!

There is passion in everything I create, from the branding portrait photoshoot, short promo video filming, creative visibility coaching sessions, mentoring other photographers and social media content creation.

Passion for change is all you need!

If my creativity flow is low, I will not push myself to be visible. I would rather wait patiently, look into it, and see what unfolds.

I do share my content when I am inspired, when I have an eye-opening story which will empower others, when I feel like sharing…

Less is more!

Quality over quantity!

There is a time for everything: new ideas, new vision, creativity, visibility as well as rest.

3. There is more than one approach to be visible on social media.

I stopped comparing myself to others a long time ago. I stopped copying and applying others social media tricks a long time ago.

Let me remind you that you are unique.

Yes, we are all unique for who we are, what we do, what we have to offer, our values and believes. So make your social media match your gifts.

What works for others on social media might not works for you.

For me personally: blogging, focusing on SEO of my website and FB posts works better for me than Instagram account channel. I do not use Twitter or LinkedIn yet…

But for you it might be completely the opposite story for many reasons: niche, business segment, marketing skills and in general where your ideal clients are hanging out.

There is more than one approach to be visible out there. Only you know which one works for you.

Follow your intuition.

Do you feel energised when you are preparing for going live?

Or do you feel anxiety?

If the second, that’s the sign this approach is not for you at this moment…and that’s OK.

There is no right or wrong approach to be visible.

When you are ready, have time and energy, you can take a risk, experiment and go out of your comfort zone … this will help you to identify what woks and what doesn’t work for you.

4. With everything I do, there has to be a deeper purpose. Infuse your social media presence with the same message.

As a heart-centred UK Female Branding Photographer and videographer, there has to be a deeper meaning and purpose in my work offline and online.

My social media message is always inspired by one of my core values: togetherness, authenticity, speaking up the truth.

I find it easy to share content about giving back to various community projects which I am involved. Did you hear about “Brining smiles to the Orphanage Girls with Magdalena’?

What is your core value, leading word for the year, business mission and vision for the year?

Why not infuse your social media presence with a deeper message around your values and vision?

This way you not only create inspiring content which is close to your heart, but you also connect and engage better with the right audience and potential clients who share a similar vision.

As you can see, there is no right or wrong approach to visibility on social media. Many social media marketing and branding experts will share different tools, methods and secretes. My advice is to look around, try and see what works for you.

Would love to hear from you, what’s your top visibility approaches out there and why?
