Bringing Smiles to Orphanage Girls with Magdalena, UK Personal Branding Photographer & Videographer

“Togetherness” is such a powerful act.  I know together we can make loads of small changes leading to something bigger. With everything I do, as a heart-centred UK female personal branding photographer and videographer, there has to be a deeper purpose!

I am not just another London & Brighton portrait photographer… After 11 years spent working in a big corporation in London, I decided to follow my dream and have my purpose-driven life with a zest of creativity.

“Bringing Smiles to Orphanage Girls with Magdalena”

In January this year I went to visit an orphanage, Norma House, in Goa, India.

I was welcomed by 45 little girls with big, sparkling, reflecting all the colours of this world eyes, beautiful wide smiles and open hearts.

Those little girls are aged between 6 and 10, yet upon my arrival, the first question I was asked was: "Who do you sponsor?". Trust me, it wasn’t easy to hide my tears. They see and feel everything. Sometimes you feel like they can see through you, or at least, through your heart, peeking deeply into your soul. It’s impossible to hide your emotions from them.

I replied immediately: "I came to spend some time with ALL of you!"

And suddenly… Their eyes started shining. Even though they were shy as a wallflower at first, they all gradually opened up and showed engagement. What was deeply touching though, was the fact that they also recognised me! "You are back! " one girl shouted loudly.

Another girl smiled at me and said: "I recognise you from last year! You are the girl with feathers in your hair... Do you remember me?" I replied: "Of' course, I remember you all! Let's play together, shall we?"

Oh yes, they were ready to play!

At some point I saw one girl on a beautiful brand new pink bike wearing the most colourful dress I’ve ever seen. I paused, looked around and wondered... I couldn't see any more bikes in there.

I asked one of the other girls "She has a beautiful bike, doesn't she?"

The girl replied: "Oh yes, she got it as a Christmas present this year from her sponsored family..."

It took some effort that afternoon to hide my tears as I was watching how this one and only bike was being shared among 45 girls with love and care.

As I was watching it, I made a promise to myself that I would donate my TIME to those girls and offer any support I can during the next three months while I am here in India.

"We all have a divine mother within us all!" I am sharing with you my story to ask you if you would like to be a part of my journey.

These young beautiful hearts live in a safe house, where education as well as food and medication are provided.

However, they are lacking basics, such as bedsheets, blankets, underwear, socks, shoes (school sandals & outgoing shoes), pillows, stationary, printers, TV,  sintex tank 1000 litre, toiletries, sport items, batteries, school uniforms, towels, umbrellas... the list is long.

SO HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Let’s bring Childhood back to the Children.

The money raised will be spend here in Goa to purchase all items needed for this house. I will personally go to purchase everything at the local market and deliver it safely to the destination. My vision is to provide the house with tangible items they crucially need, rather than offering monetary funds.

You can donate here: Bringing Smiles to Orphanage Girls with Magdalena

My intention is to document my journey and share the story (all the little happiness moments) as I go to ensure integrity.

You can also donate items yourself instead of money by shipping them directly here to India. Please contact directly a coordinator based in UK: Ruth 07866148968.  Address :Norma House, Assagao, Goa-403507

Lastly, you might want to consider sponsoring a beautiful girl as she grows and develops. Please follow the link to find more info about the process.

I have a beautiful vision and I know that with your help I can make it happen.

WHO AM I?
My name is Magdalena Smolarska.

I am a girl with a big heart and big visions like those little girls...

After 11 years spent working in a big corporation in London, I decided to follow my dream and have my purpose-driven life with a zest of creativity. I am a Personal Brand Portrait Photographer and Videographer, event organiser and mentor working mostly with women.

My mission is to empower and inspire through my camera. Working with women stepping into their power and fullness is sooooooo satisfying. To know that I can be an inspiration, a catalyst for them to be visible, confident and authentic, infuses my work with purpose.

There is soooo much light in those girls’ eyes!

Let's make those eyes shine even more.

Thank you!
