Simple steps to bring your passion and vision to life - brand photo session with Brighton and Hove yoga teacher
As soon as you get lost in your creative zone, doing what you are passionate about, I can see sparkles in your eyes, face beaming with positive energy and a beautiful smile.
Like during this brand portrait photo session with a yoga teacher from Brighton and Hove who is rebranding her website.
My simple 5 steps to bring your vision, passion and business to life.
Nicola approached me between lockdowns here in UK as she felt ready to be more visible on social media.
She wanted to pivot her business from offline to online.
She has asked for honest and authentic library of brand images for her rebranded website so she can share her passion for yoga and teaching groups from 1:1, yoga studio class to online yoga classes in Sussex, UK and worldwide.
Because facing camera can be already an overwhelming process, I make sure the designing of the brand photo session process is very simple and straight forward so you can relax on the day:
1.PHOTO SESSION VISION
Nicola’s vision was to capture images that reflect the passion and energy she brings to each online yoga class.
2. BRAND PHOTOSHOOT LOCATION
We decided to use the bright and modern Float spa yoga studio in Hove for our photo session. We chose this particular yoga studio because the dark blue wall of studio is in line with Nicolas’s brand colour.
The studio is boasts plenty of natural light coming from big windows.
3. PROPS
We incorporated essential props such as yoga mat, blogs and yoga books to reflect the depth of experience and knowledge Nicola has to offer.
We kept the photoshoot settings very simple and clean, as we both agreed, less is more.
4. OUTFITS
We decided to incorporated a change of outfits in order to have a wide range of images to pick and choose from as well as attract two kinds of clients: beginners and intermediate yogis.
For that reason, we decided to go with the professional yoga outfit as well as more casual/modern top. We stayed consisted when it comes to her brand colour- dark blue.
5. POSES
I truly believe your tribe wants to see you in the creative moment, in your zone - the real you.
To distract Nicola from the camera, I asked her to warm up on the yoga mat and that’s how we started the photo session.
When you are in the moment, when you get lost in your creative zone, doing what you are passionate about… magic happens.
My approach as a sensitive female photographer & videographer
During the photo session together, I will gently get you “in the zone” and suddenly the discomfort and shyness evaporates. You will forget about me and my camera.
You really don’t have to always look at the camera, or be staged.
Or feel pressure of smiling or posing.
Or even if you do not want to show your face…that’s ok, I am an expert in taking soulful, story telling brand images.
